SayPro partnership with United States Peace Corps Addressing Gender-Based Violence in Refugee Camps

SayPro, in partnership with the United States Peace Corps, addresses gender-based violence (GBV) in refugee camps through prevention, protection, and survivor support. SayPro establishes safe reporting mechanisms, provides medical and psychological care, and supports survivors with legal and livelihood assistance. We train camp staff and volunteers in gender-sensitive practices to reduce harm and ensure dignity. Peace Corps volunteers assist in education campaigns, case referrals, and safety audits. SayPro believes every refugee deserves safety and respect. Our programs prioritize women and girls but also support men and LGBTQ+ individuals impacted by violence in displacement settings.

SayPro facilitates awareness workshops and peer-support groups to break the silence around GBV. These sessions educate communities about consent, rights, and resources available to survivors. SayPro creates youth-focused programming that promotes gender equality and respectful relationships. Peace Corps volunteers help design culturally appropriate content and lead interactive sessions. SayPro collaborates with refugee leadership structures to ensure women’s voices are central in camp governance. This inclusivity reduces stigma and improves reporting. SayPro ensures survivors are believed, supported, and empowered—not blamed or ignored. Our work fosters resilience and collective responsibility to end gender-based harm.

SayPro also advocates for systemic changes in humanitarian response, ensuring GBV prevention is prioritized in funding, policies, and training. We engage with governments, NGOs, and UN agencies to standardize protection protocols across camps. SayPro conducts research to inform evidence-based interventions and identify service gaps. Peace Corps volunteers assist with data collection and monitoring. SayPro emphasizes survivor-led feedback to continuously improve programs. By addressing GBV comprehensively—from service delivery to policy reform—SayPro helps build safer, more responsive humanitarian systems where dignity is preserved even in crisis.

SayPro Charity NPO remains committed to ending gender-based violence in all contexts. With Peace Corps collaboration, SayPro continues to stand with survivors, offering care, support, and pathways to justice. We believe no one should suffer in silence, especially in moments of extreme vulnerability. SayPro’s work in refugee camps is driven by compassion, urgency, and the belief that safety is a human right. Together, we create environments where healing is possible, dignity is restored, and futures are rebuilt with strength and hope.
