SayPro, in partnership with the United States Peace Corps, is promoting community health initiatives through peer education models to increase awareness, trust, and behavioral change. SayPro identifies and trains local volunteers, especially youth, to serve as health educators in their own communities. These peer educators help spread accurate health information and address myths through culturally sensitive dialogue.
SayPro’s peer education programs cover critical topics such as reproductive health, nutrition, hygiene, and disease prevention. With Peace Corps support, SayPro trains peer educators in facilitation, communication, and basic first aid. SayPro also provides educational materials, toolkits, and ongoing mentorship to enhance the effectiveness of peer-led sessions. These efforts ensure messages are relatable and well-received.
SayPro integrates peer education into schools, youth clubs, and faith-based organizations. Peace Corps volunteers assist SayPro in developing content, coordinating outreach, and evaluating impact. SayPro uses community theater, radio segments, and peer-to-peer campaigns to expand reach and engagement. These approaches encourage open conversations and build community trust in health services.
SayPro tracks success through knowledge assessments, behavior change surveys, and health outcomes. SayPro regularly updates its materials based on feedback and emerging health issues. With continued support from the Peace Corps, SayPro is scaling peer education initiatives to underserved and remote communities. SayPro is committed to making health education accessible, empowering, and locally led.
